Stephen is an ambitious highly motivated and results driven coach who has coached across four continents and has evolved into one of the most internationally recognized coaches around. A UEFA Pro License Holder & FIFA Instructor Stephen has for the last 20 years coached at all levels around the globe. Taking on some of the most difficult challenges in world football, his dedication to the game and to helping others has been well documented. In 2011 Stephen was voted as Manager/Coach of the Year for all British Managers working abroad.
In December 2012 Stephen accepted an offer to manage Ethnikos in the Cypriot Premier League who were 2nd from bottom in the league without a win all season. After leading them on a 4 game unbeaten run which included 3 wins in a row Stephen left the club due to the financial crises that erupted in Cyprus early March 2012. Prior to that Stephen led Nea Salamina out of the 2nd division who were lying at the foot of the table when he took over in October 2010. The club went on an amazing run of 17 games without defeat that saw them finish 1st place at the end of the regular season. With promotion to the Cyprus Premier League secured Stephen then led the club to one of its best ever seasons guiding the club to 6th place on one of the smallest budgets in the league. Their place in the first division secured for the second consecutive season a feat that has not been achieved for many years. Results such as the 1-0 win over Champions League quarter finalist Apoel, as well as great results against Omonia Nicosia, Anorthosis and Aek -who were in the Europa Cup group stages- helped in achieving the club goals. These results were part of the reasons the club was so successful and managed to stay in the top 8 throughout the entire season. Stephen´s two spells in Africa as National Team Coach of Malawi and Sudan respectively laid down the foundations for both countries to go on and qualify for the African Cup of Nations. His energy, enthusiasm and ability to adapt to his surroundings are well known as both players and colleagues can testify to. Dedicated to self-improvement as a means of maximizing the development and performances of both his teams and players he has consistently achieved exceptional results in some of the worlds´ most diverse and challenging football environments. Stephen is also a FIFA coaching Instructor has been with FIFA now for 13 years conducting coaching education courses all over the world.
