Welcome to the EVO Football AKidemy

1. EVO ACTIVE. ( age 4-6)

2. FUN dementals (age 6-9 )

3. LEARN TO TRAIN (age 9-11 )

As part of the EVO FOOTBALL ACADEMY structure we would like to welcome you to the EVO AKIDEMY a unique approach and outlook to child development through a football based approach.

The AKIDEMY uses a LTAD ( Long Term Athletic Development ) system which is both internationally recognised and respected through both sports science and best coaching practice.

The AKIDEMY is a unique concept in the way it delivers a football based program to various age groups starting from 4- 9 years of age , with a firm emphasis on the development of the child through the athletic ABCs ( Agility, Balance, Coordination, speed) it also delivers a high level of football based technique within an interactive framework.

This encourages and supports the children to develop their own style of play as well as improving their physical literacy and overall health and fitness whilst also aiding and supporting their social development regardless of whether the child goes on to play at an elite level or simply play for their own enjoyment.

This isn't a soccer school or a football team, this is about the individual, your child, having fun and improving in a sport they enjoy.

At EVO FOOTBALL we firmly believe that all children should be allowed to be creative and express themselves in a positive and safe learning environment. Whilst the child will develop at their own rate the primary focus of all sessions will be enjoyment and social interaction through games based models. A more mobile , better balanced child will be more likely to try new things because of the confidence they have gained.

We actively promote equality for all children and respect and value diversity.

We focus on other areas of athletic development such as the mental, social and emotional as well as the physical aspects of sport as we believe this leads to continued participation and also a sense of purpose and belonging which in turn both supports and optimises elite athletic development.

We actively promote a M.S.A (multi sport approach ) and encourage children to participate in various other sports and disciplines as we believe intrinsic motivation at an early age with improved communication skills develops a childs self confidence and helps them further express themselves which can then go on to have a positive impact on other areas of their lives such as school and at home.

We ensure that our group sizes will be a maximum of 14 children with approx 2-3 coaching staff at all sessions , this is to have more contact time with the children and help them overcome any barriers to success as well as increase their retention and absorption rate.

Sessions will be designed using various different approaches but will always have regular key elements in , this is for two reasons.

The children become familiar with the layout and the dynamic.

By incorporating consistent, deliberate and functional practice over time they become proficient.

The Benefits.....

The children will be learning transferable skills every single hour they spend at the Akidemy such as :

Respect    Good behaviour    Respect    Communication    Great attitude

The contact time,

Both in a small group and 1-1 time rapidly increases development.

Social Element.

The Power of self.

The children will work on various things during practice which over time can cover topics such as , self esteem, self belief and self confidence.

Participation is vital, your child will mix with other children in a fun and safe environment, they will learn about interaction, respecting each other's space and boundaries as well as how an Akidemy student should act, not just in training.

Performance Element

The children will learn early on that there will be competition, but it's only ever with themselves.

They will only be measured for progress against their own previous performances / training sessions. Our aim is for them to improve themselves nothing more, nothing less.

Our performance environment differs from others they will experiance in relation to:

There is no presssure of playing in a team.

There is no worry of staying in the team.

There is no dejection of watching from the sideline.

The only person they have to impress every session is themselves.

You can still regress to progress.

We will actively encourage positive selfishness and teach them how to reflect on their session.

What did I do well?

What can I practice for next week?

What will I try to do next time ?

Educational Support.

Our online EVO AKidemy portal is designed to offer support and advice , primarily for the parents first , then the children. There will be various material on the portal as well as the opportunity to ask questions or any advice in key areas.

The Akidemy program will develop key skills in the following areas.

Physical development

Agility, Balance, Coordination, Speed, strength, power.

Becoming more active helps you have a healthy lifestyle, you are fitter, quicker and stronger.

Body shape, body position, first touch, ball control, mastery and skill, passing, dribbling and striking.

Spatial awareness, recognising and finding space, taking up good positions.

Communication, body language, projection, recovery from setbacks, dynamics and cohesion within a social function, mixing with others, learning from failure.

We will identify and mimic patterns of movement from various other sports and disciplines to replicate good practice and form within the dynamics of football.

We believe in a more subtle, gentler way of challenging children to push themselves out of their comfort zones and develop more naturally.

EVO Sessions will consist of various elements and different disciplines, these will not all be included every single session each week, but rather added over time.

Some of theses are:

Warm up    Ball familiarisation    Dynamics    Functional movement    Technique in isolation    Cognitive processing    Decision making    Competition under pressure    Ball mastery / skills    Focus/ attention

An example of an AKIDEMY session . (1hour duration )

Meet and greet .......spend 5 minutes talking to the children like a mental register to assess or see if there are any underlying issues as well as explaining or giving the children a run through of their session.

Dyanamic warm up ......... 7 - 10 min focussing on the ABCs, running, jumping, moving, changes of direction etc.

Interactive games based around basic fundamentals, using hoops, bean bags and foam balls.

3 x 7 min with drinks and breaks in between. ( one of these sessions may be a review of football homework)

Small technical session 7-10 min , incorporating basic kicking / striking and catching technique.

Blow out ........ 5 min high energy game

Chill out and pack away game 5 min ( cool down period )

Thanks for coming see you next session 👍🏻

Akidemy Code of Conduct

( The Ten Commandments of being a great kid within football )

I will be nice to my parents and I will display good manners.....otherwise it's a long walk home.

I will say hello when I come in and goodbye when I leave. ( mental register )

I will treat my fellow students with respect.

I will treat my Coaches with respect.
