Jason Oswell

Jason a renowned goalscorer a strong powerful striker, great in the air, good with hold up and link play but also has many more dimensions to his play.


Born in Northwich, Oswell began his career at Crewe Alexandra, turning professional in May 2011. While at Crewe, he spent loan spells at non-league clubs Market Drayton Town and Nantwich Town during the 2010–11 season. He was handed a one-year extension to his contract at the club in order to continue gaining experience out on loan and joined Welsh club Rhyl on a six-month loan deal during the 2011–12 season. After a strong start during his spell at the club, scoring 6 times in his first 10 appearances, Oswell was named as Cymru Alliance player of the month for October 2011 before finishing his loan spell with a total of 19 goals. He moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in June 2012, making his debut on 11 August 2012 in the Scottish Premier League. Oswell was released by the club by mutual consent in January 2013. Jason returned to England and had short spells with Nantwich and Witton Albion before moving to Australian club APIA Leichhardt Tigers in May 2013, making his debut later that month against the Rockdale City Suns, Jason went on to score 12 goals in 15 games. Oswell returned to Wales in September 2013 with brief spells at Rhyl and Airbus UK Broughton before joining Newtown in 2014. He finished as the club’s top scorer in the 2014–15 and 2016–17 seasons, winning the Welsh Premier League golden boot during the latter with a total of 22 league goals and also won Welsh Premier league player of the year. Jason finished his time at Newtown with a total of 51 goals in 91 games. On the 4th June 2017 Jason signed for Stockport County.

In 2017/18 season Jason scored 29 goals for Stockport and was Stockport Player of year.
